As a Board-certified Pediatric dentist, Dr. Simhi offers elevated pediatric dentistry including preventive treatments, special needs care, and child-friendly sedation
We fully clean your child’s teeth, removing any plaque or tartar build-up. We’ll also monitor their growth and development and identify areas your child is brushing well, and where there is room for improvement. Giving your child the tools and teaching them how to keep their smile confident and healthy are essential to what we do.
After your child’s teeth have been cleaned, we will complete their exam and answer any questions you or your child may have.
Dental sealant can be applied to your child’s tooth enamel to protect their teeth from plaque, decay, and subsequent cavities with normal chewing.
No painful bitewings for your little ones. Our digital X-rays are painless and provide crystal clear images without chemicals or increased radiation exposure.
We offer a range of filling materials, with a strong emphasis on tooth-colored composite fillings. These composite fillings do not contain mercury, blend seamlessly with your child’s natural teeth, and ensure both a functional and aesthetically pleasing result.
When your child’s tooth has deep decay or has been injured, a pulpotomy saves the root of the tooth and relieves any pain. The tooth is filled and capped with a crown to help it remain anchored in place until it’s time to naturally fall out, keeping space for the permanent tooth and maintaining normal jaw development.
Dental crowns provide a solution for decayed, damaged, or cracked teeth. We proudly feature white zirconia crowns, renowned for their superior strength and natural appearance. When applicable, we also offer stainless steel crowns (SSCs) for maintaining oral function and withstanding the rigors of everyday use, especially in the posterior molars.
"Laughing gas" is the common term for Nitrous Oxide, a safe and mild method of sedation used during dental procedures. Your child will be awake and responsive throughout the procedure, but in a more relaxed state. Because this type of sedation is short-lived with a gentle effect, it is often used for children. Nitrous oxide puts patients at ease to remain relaxed during dental procedures, allowing the anxious child a more pleasant dental experience! We customize each case individually and will discuss sedation only if necessary.
Many children suffer from dental anxiety, feeling extreme fear that keeps them from attending dental visits. We want all patients to receive excellent dental care despite their dental anxiety. To this end, we offer in-house IV sedation dentistry from an anesthesiologist to ensure the comfort of our patients. If your child fears going to the dentist, call us today to learn more about intravenous “IV” sedation.
Children may be born with a combination of conditions called a tongue-tie (ankyloglossia) and/or a lip-tie. These may cause restrictions in movement that can lead to difficulty with breastfeeding, and in some instances, other health problems like dental decay or spacing, speech and airway difficulties, and digestive issues.
During a frenectomy, we use laser light to remove the frenum under the tongue or upper lip to allow for better range of motion. With very little discomfort and almost no bleeding, some babies and children sleep through the procedure. The laser sterilizes upon touch, reducing the chance of infection and stimulating healing.
